Hackney born celebrities wish good luck to revising students
Hackney-born stars of stage and screen have come together this week to give a final push to students as exam season reaches its peak.
The celebrities, including Eastenders stars Patsy Palmer and Arinze Kene and Dr Who actress Freema Agyeman, have passed on good luck messages and words of advice to students in Hackney.
All of the stars attended Hackney schools before going on to their successful careers.
Freema Agyeman, star of Dr Who, Torchwood and Law and Order (Our Lady’s Convent High School), said:
“Heads down and study hard! Boyfriends, girlfriends, going out, having a laugh, having a life will still be available to you after your exams. But this moment to help plan for your future life is short – so take the opportunity, use it well, use it wisely! Whatever you choose to do in life, education will always give you a solid foundation. Give your future as much potential as you can. Good luck!!”
Patsy Palmer, actress, star of Eastenders (Haggerston School)
“Having been there myself and as a mum, I know exam time can be extremely stressful. Try to keep calm and stick to your revision timetable and it will all be worth it in the end. Good luck!”
Arinze Kene, star of Eastenders and writer of Little Baby Jesus, on at the Oval House Theatre (St Scholastica’s RC Primary School).
“Good Luck to all the students in Hackney currently revising hard for their exams. Much Love!”
Lily Loveless, star of Skins (Cardinal Pole School), said:
“I know exams are tough and it’s hard to concentrate on your revision, particularly when the sun is shining! But it will be worth it in the end and you can have fun in the summer. Good luck to all of you!”
Anne Keothavong Tennis star (Kingsland High School), said:
“Keep focussing on getting those excellent exam results in your hands in August – I know revising can be tough but just keep going. You can relax in the summer and celebrate once the results are through!”
Adam Mysize Deacon, star of Kidulthood and Adulthood (Stoke Newington School). He said:
“Best of luck to everyone from Hackney studying for their exams, remember you can do whatever you put your mind to. Keep focused and study hard! – it will all be worth it in the end!”
