Leadership

We firmly believe that great leaders should inspire, motivate and nurture their staff and pupils. Great leaders build great teams who deliver great results. Ultimately we want the best education for the children of Hackney and we want Hackney teachers to feel empowered and motivated at work. Being a great Head is about more than qualifications and past success; it’s about how you relate to people to get the best out of them day in day out. We use a number of methods at the interview stage to assess these types of behaviours, but to begin with you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Evidence of recent relevant in-service training
• Registered or in possession of NPQH qualification (if required)
• Graduate level qualifications except in exceptional circumstances
• We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the vision and leadership qualities to provide the pupils with an exciting, vibrant and stimulating learning environment.
• You will need a strong vision, a good understanding of learning and teaching and people skills to inspire staff, parents and pupils.
• Good communication skills are also essential to maintaining good working relations with staff and pupils to help develop the school’s reputation in the local community
